In Kenya, the Reteti shelter works for small elephants who have lost their parents. Poachers still hunt elephants, so elephants are often left orphans. To help the kids survive, a special shelter was organized here.
Elephants in Reteti are not just grown up, but they also teach independent life at will. They are not only fed with milk, but when they grow up, they learn to seek their own food themselves.
The food is loafed 3 times a day and this is a troublesome and noisy business. Hungry toddlers surround the caretakers and drink greedily the milk offered to them.
