Living alone on the streets as a stray animal is a lonely, heartbreaking life. Tina was found living alone on the streets of Athens, Greece. She was starving and had suffered some injuries. Tina was desperate to find someone – anyone who was willing to help her.
Finally, one day, her body and spirit could go no further. She managed to get inside an office, and she laid down.
Valia, an animal rescuer, came and picked her up. Once the leash was put around her neck, Tina willingly got up and followed Valia.
On some level, it was as if Tina knew she was finally being rescued! Just look at that sad face, Tina has been alone far too long. Valia took Tina to the vet and happily gave the dog some much-needed affection. Tina just soaked it all in – it had been far too long. The veterinarian diagnosed Tina with mange and gave her some medication.
Eventually, Valia learned that Tina was a Russian Shepherd and that she was twelve years old.
What made Valia sad was when she learned that Tina had once belonged to a family and that her name was Lara.
Well, obviously, the people who owned Tina before had no compassion or they would have never let her become a stray.
The best part about this story is that Tina is no longer alone! She will have love and companionship for the rest of her life.
